• Don Bacon Releases New Ad Titled “Everybody Loves Bacon – Pt. 2”

Friday, November 4, 2016 – Today, the Don Bacon for Congress campaign released its ninth TV spot for the general election cycle, Everybody Loves Bacon pt.2.

The ad highlights General Don Bacon’s military leadership and his commitment to conservative principles. As a political outsider, Bacon will advocate for fiscal responsibility and fight to protect Social Security and Medicare for Nebraska’s seniors. Unlike Brad Ashford, General Don Bacon will fight for Nebraskans, not Nancy Pelosi’s Washington-knows-best, liberal agenda.

“Nebraskans deserve a representative like Don Bacon that will fight for them and their values—not the liberal agenda of Nancy Pelosi, Brad Ashford and Hillary Clinton,” said Bacon Campaign spokesman Elliott Bottorf. “It is long past time for 2nd District families to have a strong, conservative leader in Congress, and not a follower with his finger in the wind.”

  • Statement on DCCC’s Latest Attack Ad On Women’s Healthcare

Tuesday, November 1, 2016 – Today, congressional candidate General Don Bacon released the following statement on the DCCC’s latest attack ad that completely lies about his position on women’s healthcare:

“Nancy Pelosi and Brad Ashford’s latest attack ad is as desperate as it is disgusting,” says General Don Bacon. “The importance of preventative care is an issue that my family and I care deeply about.  I lost my sister Beth to breast cancer when she was just 39 years old. Not only was she a wonderful sister, but she also introduced Angie and I, and was the maid of honor at our wedding.  Her loss was the most heart breaking event in my family’s life, and ten years later I still mourn her passing.  Earlier screenings and care could have saved her life and I want to prevent the tragedy that struck our family from happening to others.”

  • Don Bacon For Congress Statement on Brad Ashford’s Latest Ad

Saturday, October 29, 2016 – Today, the Don Bacon for Congress campaign released the following statement on Brad Ashford’s latest TV spot complaining about attack ads:

“It’s pretty hypocritical for Brad Ashford to look Nebraskans in the eye and decry attack ads when Nancy Pelosi and her cronies have spent at least $2 million dollars spreading lies about General Don Bacon on his behalf,” says Camille Gallo, spokesperson for the Don Bacon campaign. “If Brad Ashford has such a problem with this, he should tell Nancy Pelosi and her pals to remove their disgraceful ads designed to frighten senior citizens by lying about Don Bacon’s stance on social security and Medicare.”

  • Don Bacon Campaign Condemns New DCCC Attack Ad

Tuesday, October 25, 2016 – Today, the DCCC is up on the air with another attack ad that completely distorts General Don Bacon’s position on Social Security and Medicare.

The truth is Don Bacon does not support altering or reducing Social Security for those in or near retirement. Don believes we should consider the possibility of adjusting current long-term policies to ensure the viability of Social Security for future generations. Adjustments need to be made or the program will go bankrupt. Unlike Brad Ashford, Don Bacon will be a leader and work to find a solution to this problem.

But it’s a FACT that Brad Ashford once called for a 20% cut in Social Security and Medicare, and it’s also a FACT Ashford proposed turning Medicaid into voucher system. This attack ends with questioning if Don Bacon can be trusted, but if you look at Brad Ashford’s record he’s the only untrustworthy candidate on the ballot.

“The DCCC is once again on the airwaves telling lies about Don Bacon’s position on social security,” says Don Bacon for Congress spokesperson, Camille Gallo.  “The truth is Don Bacon does not support altering the Social Security for those in or near retirement. Once upon a time, Brad Ashford called for a 20% cut in entitlements and proposed turning Medicaid into a voucher system, but the Democrats would rather pretend like that didn’t happen. If you look at Brad Ashford’s real record he’s the only candidate that can’t be trusted to protect 2nd District seniors.”

Congress Hopes Ashford Argues for Budget Amendment

  • Don Bacon Releases New Ad Titled “Joyce”

Today, the Don Bacon for Congress campaign released its sixth TV spot of the general election cycle. The ad is a testimonial from Joyce Stepanek, grandmother of Navy SEAL Caleb Nelson who was killed in Afghanistan.

“I’m grateful to Joyce for her friendship and wise counsel.  Our nation owes a debt that can never be paid to families like hers,” said retired Brigadier General Don Bacon.  “Joyce’s grandson, Caleb Nelson, is a true American hero who made the ultimate sacrifice in order to fulfill the promises that our country was founded upon.  As leaders, we have a moral obligation to maintain those promises made to our citizens.  Obligations by our government, such as maintaining the solvency of Social Security, are not open to renegotiation.  Too many brave men and women have paid for those promises with their lives.  As your next Congressman, you can count on me to always do what is right and fight for our citizens, regardless of political gain.

  • Don Bacon Releases New Ad Titled “372 Miles”

Monday, October 17, 2016 – Today, the Don Bacon for Congress campaign released its fifth TV ad of the general election cycle.

The ad highlights Brad Ashford’s shocking debate meltdown where he admitted he did not know that Bellevue was on the ISIS “kill list.” Whether it is a direct threat or the possibility of an ISIS-inspired lone wolf attack, Nebraska leaders need to take all threats seriously. Unlike Brad Ashford, retired Brigadier General Don Bacon has the knowledge and experience necessary to keep Nebraskans safe.

“How can Nebraskans expect Brad Ashford to keep them safe when he didn’t even know ISIS was targeting his own backyard?” says Camille Gallo, spokesperson for Don Bacon for Congress.  “Nebraskans deserve a leader like Don Bacon, who recognizes the threats facing this country, not someone like Brad Ashford, who is oblivious to them.”

  • Don Bacon Releases Fourth TV Ad

Thursday, October 13, 2016 – Today, congressional candidate General Don Bacon released his fourth TV spot for the general election.

The ad highlights General Bacon’s plan to shake up Washington, which will protect social security, balance the budget, create jobs, and protect Nebraskans.  Don Bacon is a political outsider and a proven leader who will fix the problems caused by career politicians.

“Career politicians, like Brad Ashford, have run amok in Washington and it’s time for a real leader like General Don Bacon to fix that,” says Don Bacon for Congress Spokesperson Camille Gallo. “Don has a plan to shake up Washington that includes fighting ISIS, creating jobs, and protecting social security. General Bacon will provide the leadership needed at a time when the stakes couldn’t be higher.”

  • Don Bacon Releases Third TV Ad

Thursday, October 6, 2016 – Today, 2nd District congressional candidate General Don Bacon released his third TV spot for the general election.

The ad highlights the oath General Bacon swore to the Constitution when entering the military over thirty years ago, which he will continue to uphold as a representative for Nebraska’s 2nd District.  Don is leader who will always defend the Constitution and keep the country safe from threats both at home and abroad.

“General Don Bacon swore an oath to defend this country when he entered the military and he will continue to uphold that pledge in the halls of Congress,” said Don Bacon for Congress spokesperson Camille Gallo.  “General Bacon has seen the real threats that face our nation and will always put country before politics.”
